Local Dimming Algorithm of Automotive LCD Instrument Based on Otsu and Maximum Entropy

In order to reasonably reduce the energy consumption of automotive LCD instrument and improve display quality, a new local dimming algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, gray image input obtained by using maximum principle, then, LED backlight brightness value Otsu method entropy method. The BMA smoothing improved combining bilinear interpolation algorithm, pixel compensation based on logarithm. Then, for low images, high contrast typical algorithms are used simulate compare, processing effects various analyzed. Finally, weight objectively evaluate algorithm. results show that reduces improves which verifies effectiveness
